Charlotte's poem for Mrs.Hancock

My teacher, you were so bright
You always looked at us with delight
While we learned, you made it fun.
You never looked down on anyone.
Now that I'm in high school,
Classmates thought you were uncool.
I thought my class would pick on me
so I had to look on you harshly.
Now that you have gone to rest,
deep in my heart I am depressed.
As I look back with a face of regret,
I realize it's you I'll never forget.
