My mom said something that made me cry
My grandpa died oh what a surprise!
I was 7 and in grade 2
How the news made me blue.
The next day, it was sunny
People’s faces were so gloomy.
A lot of people were gathered there
Watching dear grandpa go elsewhere
We each picked up sand, which we threw down there
But there was one thing I couldn’t bear.
I didn’t want to grow up, since I would die too
My father replied you’ll have to, there’s nothing you can do
My other grandpa told me all of us are the same
We will die too, that’s how it came
Later that day, I still had a tear
Wondering how I will overcome this fear
I hate to admit it but, to this day
I fear about passing away
My life will go on without a doubt
Until the day I do fade-out.
